supervisor wiener. why don't we go to now district seven. supervisor elsbernd. >> i am presenting today for supervisor chu. she asked me to present. this is someone i think more than anyone else knows about the restaurant business because she grew up in a restaurant. her parents owned and operated a business all through her childhood and knows the ins and out's of a good restaurant. she chosen some place i might chosen and parkside tavern. they are not here today but what is a very obvious working. they were working really hard last night and need to get ready to go tomorrow u but those that know the sunset, the parkside tavern, the owner larry doyle lives in the area and active as a community member. uses the restaurant as a great community resource, be contributes to the community, makes it available to various groups and it's become a great gathering place for those that love sport of all kind, and those that like a quiet comfort sun shut meal in the sunset and i would like to congratulate the parkside tavern. >> thank you supervisor elsbernd bernd. why don't we go to distric
colleague, supervisor sean elsbernd. >> thank you, mr. president. my honoree today is mr. fred martin. fred, if you'd like to come forward. fred is a long-time resident of district 7, right there in the heart of the district [speaker not understood]. to be quite honest, to be quite frank, mental health is not an issue that rises to the top of a lot of district 7 concerns. i don't hear about mental health issues often at neighborhood meetings, letters, calls. but fred always makes it his top issue. and this is a gentleman who has had a very long successful business career, who has made mental health advocacy really a great part of his life today. and he has done more than just about anybody else to educate me about issues in and around mental health. he's opened my eyes, opened my ears to a lot of issues that prior to coming to the board i had no idea about. and i'm very grateful to fred for doing that. and just within quite frankly the very parochial world of district 7, i give great credit to fred for making this issue far more prevalent in the minds of the residents of district 7, helping
elsbernd and he's worked hard on it, but if it is found -- if there are specific places to target whether technical or in personnel we do need to focus on that. as for free rides for youth i am screechish at the idea of just giving away free rides like that. i would like greatly reduced and families and where they need it but a blanket and children grow up and learn that is just something they should expect i do have a problem with that. i do want to help those in need but that isn't the first way to do it. >> all right. thank you. mr. crowley. >> muni moves more than bart. it's the biggest in the united states. for the on time performance it's tough to get around traffic and mitigation but they have a plan afoot and bypass areas that have bus stops on every block and that is one way to improve performance. as far as free muni for kids i support that but in practice we don't have the budget to support it and that's my stance today. thank you. >> okay. >> i took muni to get here tonight. i share a car with my partner so two days a week when he works in the city i get the car and when
